My son was represented by Mr. Jones, and his case took approximately 2½ years to resolve. Unfortunately, our experience with the firm was disappointing, particularly when it came to communication and the level of attention we felt was given to my son’s case. Throughout the process, I often had difficulty getting in touch with Mr. Jones. Calls were not always returned, and I was frequently told he was in court, unavailable, or on vacation. I understand that attorneys have demanding schedules, but when your child is facing a potential life sentence, communication and guidance from his attorney are incredibly important. At the beginning of the case, our family was given the impression that going to trial was a realistic possibility and that there was a chance of obtaining a determinate sentence. As the case progressed, however, Mr. Jones's position changed significantly. We were eventually told that he did not believe my son had a strong chance at trial and that the best possible outcome was to accept a plea of 15 years to life. One of my biggest concerns was that I never felt confident that Mr. Jones had thoroughly reviewed all of the reports and information related to my son's case. At times, it felt as though the case was being reviewed shortly before court appearances rather than being thoroughly prepared and discussed with us throughout the process. Our family was also shocked to learn that the plea would result in a strike. We did not understand this to be part of the consequences of the plea beforehand. My son learned about the strike during a court appearance shortly before signing his change-of-plea paperwork for the 15-years-to-life sentence. Considering the seriousness and lifelong consequences of that decision, I believe something this important should have been clearly explained and discussed well in advance. I paid approximately $45,000 for my son's representation and was told it would cost an additional $45,000 if the case proceeded to trial. I also found myself acting as the go-between for my son and his attorney. I would sometimes have to specifically ask Mr. Jones to visit my son so they could discuss important information about his case. I expected much more direct attorney-client communication given the seriousness of the charges and the amount we were paying for representation. The most difficult part of this experience is feeling that once the fee was paid, my son's case did not receive the personal attention, communication, and advocacy that our family expected. I understand that no attorney can guarantee an outcome, and I am not criticizing Mr. Jones simply because my son received a difficult sentence. My disappointment is with the process: the communication, the preparation we observed, the lack of clarity regarding significant consequences of the plea, and the level of involvement we experienced. When you hire an attorney to represent someone you love in a case where their freedom and future are at stake, you are placing an enormous amount of trust in that attorney. Unfortunately, based on our family's experience, I did not feel that trust was well served although we knew the end result was most likely not going to be an outcome anyone would want. I just felt I need to write an honest review about our experience.

I don’t think they’re good lawyers at all. If I can give 0 stars, yall best believe it is zero completed. These guys are money hungry. They expect you to pay a front money an order to help you. If you don’t have that money, they shoo you away. Sucks for the poor people like me who can’t front the deposit that they expect but is willing to help the rich and still win the case just because it’s all about the money wise. But the truth is, if yall win the case? How much did you really lose?? Who got money out of your case?? It’s them?? Not you!! You’re fooled!! They got more money out from you than you got paid for. So good luck going to these hungry money lawyers here in Fresno!! Sue them if you can. Cause I would love to see them for cheating the amount percentage and their customer services of how they treat others.
