I want to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent experience seeking legal guidance from Mr. Henderson’s office concerning my aunt’s trust and care.
My grandmother and I are currently assisting in the care of my aunt and were seeking guidance regarding her trust, specifically to understand what actions, responsibilities, or matters needed immediate attention and what we should be aware of moving forward. Given the circumstances, we were looking for clarity and professional direction during what is already a difficult and stressful family situation.
The primary reason we sought consultation from this office was because Mr. Henderson the attorney who originally created my aunt’s trust. Because of his prior involvement and familiarity with the matter, we believed his office would be the most appropriate source of guidance as we attempted to understand what, if anything, needed to be addressed at this stage.
We initially scheduled an in-person meeting with the understanding that we would be able to discuss these matters directly. We were later informed that the appointment could no longer take place in person and would instead need to occur by phone. While this change was unexpected, we adjusted accordingly and remained prepared for the consultation.
However, on the day of the scheduled appointment, approximately four hours before our consultation, we received a phone call informing us that after reviewing the file, Mr. Henderson would not be meeting with us and that we would need to find another attorney.
I understand that attorneys have the right to determine whether they are able to take on a matter. However, what I found deeply disappointing was the timing and manner in which this was handled. Informing us only hours before our scheduled appointment, after we had already rearranged our schedules and relied upon receiving guidance, created unnecessary stress and uncertainty at a time when we are navigating the care of a vulnerable family member and trying to responsibly understand legal obligations.
This experience was especially frustrating because we were not seeking extensive representation at that time, but simply guidance on what we needed to know or address now regarding my aunt’s trust and care. Given that his office originally created the trust, we had expected at minimum a brief consultation or clearer communication if he was unable to assist.
Unfortunately, after this experience, I better understand some of the concerns reflected in public feedback regarding communication and client experience. While I had hoped for a different interaction, my experience left me feeling dismissed during an already stressful situation.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and helps improve communication and professionalism for future individuals and families seeking assistance during difficult circumstances.

He asked one question and became disrespectful and rude, and he left the meeting. I totally understand the poor reviews. You can do better.

My husband and I had similar experiences to the one star comments below. We were seeking guidance for estate planning, simple and clean, and Henderson said our case was too complicated. (Huh?) Also, that he could not help us and to seek separate attorneys. Totally bizarre and rude man. Don’t waste your time and find someone else.
