I hired this attorney on July 6 to handle my son’s traffic ticket and make sure it was taken care of properly. After the first court date, I learned there had been a Failure to Appear. I contacted the attorney, and he told me he had been running a little late and not to worry, that he would take care of everything at the next court date. I trusted that and waited to hear from him about the outcome and what, if anything, needed to be paid. I never heard anything. At the end of September, I called his office to find out what was going on. I was told he would call me back. Instead of continuing to wait, I called the court myself to find out the status of the case and whether anything was owed. That is when I discovered my son had received a SECOND Failure to Appear and that a warrant had been issued. I immediately called the attorney’s office again and left multiple messages. When he finally returned my call, he told me he did not know what had happened and believed it was a court error. I then contacted the court directly, and they made it clear to me that it was not a court error. The attorney then filed paperwork to have the warrant withdrawn so the matter could finally be paid. However, according to the court, the two Failures to Appear and the fact that a warrant was issued remain part of the case docket even after the underlying ticket is resolved. One mistake is one thing. Two Failures to Appear and a warrant being issued while I received no communication about what was happening with my son’s case is another. I also emailed the attorney asking him to provide any record of when he had attempted to contact me regarding the case, the court proceedings, what was owed, or anything else related to its status. He never responded to that email or provided that information. I paid an attorney to handle a traffic ticket. I should not have had to discover by calling the court myself that my son had two Failures to Appear and a warrant. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this attorney to handle anything.
