If something is unclear, he will thoughtfully explain it as many times as needed until you fully understand. Most importantly, he honors his commitments and follows through on everything he promises. We highly recommend him to anyone seeking a trustworthy and compassionate attorney.

I am writing this review because I had read about him before meeting him, and from our very first consultation, he gave me confidence and explained everything clearly. I worked with him for more than a year, and during that entire time, I never once had a second thought about consulting another attorney.
He is highly ethical and always prioritizes what is best for his clients and their families. He is easily reachable by phone or message, understands the urgency of any situation, and responds promptly. His dedication, integrity, and professionalism truly set him apart.

As I was going through a very difficult emotional time, I now realize that I may have asked many unnecessary or even simple questions. However, he answered every one of them with patience and understanding, never making me feel uncomfortable.

Vijay is incredible and turned my complex and high-stakes case from a totally hopeless situation to an amazing (life-changing) outcome in Santa Clara Family Court. His website emphasizes criminal defense, but he has significant family law experience and real credibility in Santa Clara Family Court. His courtroom presence is exceptional, and he has a good read on how the Court will rule and he shares it frankly (even if it's less pleasing to hear).

His criminal defense background might make it seem like he's very "aggressive," but in person and in court, he's very respectful not personally aggressive. He has high levels of empathy and kindness, and I felt that he fought very hard for my case all through. He is "legally aggressive," but that doesn't mean he'll drag the case out unnecessarily. In fact, the case progressed fast thanks to his efforts and strategy. I spent 10+ hours in court with him across a few hearings, and I saw firsthand his representation under pressure, his credibility with the court, and his ability to get results in Family court.

Vijay handled every aspect of my case personally. His billing is straightforward (no padding or surprise charges). He is a trial specialist, but he won't take you to trial there unless you have no other choice. At the same time, with his representation, you can't be forced into a bad settlement out of fear of trial.

In the first month or two, I felt communication was sometimes less frequent than I expected (e.g. he's in court often and busy). In hindsight, that was a very good thing. He communicated when necessary. It saved me tens of thousands in fees that larger firms would have billed for endless emails and calls, and it made no difference to the outcome. It tells me his model is based on efficiency and results, not increasing billable hours. If you're facing a custody dispute or DVRO matter in Santa Clara Family Court, Vijay is your best bet.

Vijay is an excellent criminal and family lawyer. Back in 2020, he helped get out unscathed when a false allegation of physical abuse was filed against me. He suggested an offensive approach to my family DVRO case, which helped me get to a level playing field against my wife - leading to me gaining custody of my daughter sooner.

In 2025, I approached Vijay again when once again a false case was filed against me - this time of sexual abuse of my minor child. Vijay consulted me gratis on steps to take, responded to my phone call and text promptly; without even forcing me to retain him for my case. It demonstrated the kind of person Vijay is.
