CTA has referred me to this law firm twice. Both times they have not been able to assist me. They have the employer's best interest in mind and not the employees. When I had my consultation with Ernest he responded multiple times with "but you haven't worked." I find this to be discriminatory in nature because I have been out on disability. He was not concerned about the details of my concerns or complaints. Instead that is what he responded. I cried in our session because of how I was being treated by him. After several times of him responding to me with that phrase, I respectfully respond back to him with "it is not my fault I have not been at work. I have been placed on disability." I started to cry during the consultation because of the way he was responding to me and treating me. I did let him know that I was not well as he could see because I was crying. I wasn't well and that is why I was placed on disability. He responded with "There is no reason for you to be on disability." I responded with " I am on disability because I am not okay." Please note that I had already disclosed my medical diagnosis to him. He also requested that I tell him the Ed Codes. I respectfully responded that I needed assistance from an attorney because I wasn't an attorney myself, I didn't know my rights, and needed clarification in regards to the education code/law. He mentioned that my case was very difficult and that he needed to do some research as he didn't know what the ed code/law said about my concerns. I offered to send him my timeline of events and he said that he didn't want me to send it to him as he did not have the time to review it. Instead, he insisted that I write a new short timeline with just some dates. I insisted that my timeline had all the documents, evidence, and information that he needed. He responded that he wouldn't go over it because it was too long. He also asked me why didn't I take my baby bonding time sooner. I asked him to clarify why he was asking me that questions. He responded with why didn't you just take your baby bonding time in August? I find this to also be discriminatory as I have the right to request baby bonding leave at anytime before my child turns one.
