Tremaroli & Tremaroli

My experience with Tremaroli & Tremaroli was deeply disappointing and concerning.

My parents originally had an estate plan that named all eight children as equal beneficiaries and appointed my eldest brother as executor. At some point, a revised will was drafted that significantly changed those terms. The updated documents named one sibling as executor—replacing the originally designated executor—and granted another sibling sole ownership of the family home through a beneficiary deed. The sibling named as executor has a long-standing personal relationship and childhood friendship with Patricia Tremaroli, which raises concerns for me about independence and the appearance of impartiality. The majority of the siblings were not aware that these substantial changes had been made.

When my mother passed away in January 2021, several of us were told there was no will, and we received no communication from this firm regarding any estate documents. After my father passed in November 2023, we again requested to see the will. We were initially told there was no will and later advised to wait until after the holidays. At no point were I or several other siblings contacted by the firm regarding the existence of a will or our status, if any, as beneficiaries.

As a family member directly affected, I expected transparency and professional communication from an estate planning firm in such serious matters. The lack of outreach and clarity has left me questioning whether appropriate safeguards were followed to ensure my parents’ true intentions were protected and that conflicts of interest were properly addressed.

Attorneys are held to professional and ethical standards through the Colorado Bar Association and related regulatory bodies. Given the sensitive nature of estate planning and probate matters, integrity, independence, and proactive communication are essential. Based on my experience, Tremaroli & Tremaroli did not demonstrate the level of integrity, and transparency that Estate planning requires.

I would strongly encourage families to ensure all beneficiaries are informed and that independent counsel is considered when drafting or revising estate documents.
