I hired him for a breach contract and defamation case. A few months before the scheduled trial, I pressed him on legal theory about the plaintiff not being a third-party beneficiary to a contract. His answer was the plaintiff cannot claim third-party beneficiary. He did not have a theory. Then he quit. I had to hire a new lawyer. The new lawyer filed a no evidence motion the day he took the case. The judge granted the motion. The breach of contract claim based on third-party beneficiary was tossed on a summary judgement. The plaintiff demanded "the contract" from me. Messerli did not object and gave "the contract" to the plaintiff. The new lawyer, objected to "the contract" because it was confidential. As part of the reasoning for the summary judgement, the judge deemed "the contract" confidential and cannot be used as evidence. It is "the contract" that Mr. Messerli gave to the plaintiff when asked. About a month ago, the plaintiff filed a motion to dismiss the defamation part of the case. The whole case was disposed today.

Response to your response: I still remember our first conversation well. You told me that I can forget about the defamation part because the plaintiff was not named in "the contract". It was proven false. You did not find a feasible and valid defense for me. I did a lot of research myself and emailed you some of my findings. You rejected those findings. Those findings were heavily relied on in my motion for a summary judgement after you quit. You represented me well over a year, after spending $16k. You did not have a valid defense for me for breach of contract. In about a month after your quit, the plaintiff's breach of contract part of the case was tossed in a summary judgement. The contract was deemed inadmissible as evidence by the court when granted the summary judgement in my favor. You gave the contract to the plaintiff. It is a clear contrast between you and the other lawyer who represented me after you. All of these are well documented. You quit because I pressed you for a valid defense and you could not come up with one. You quit for convenience. I do not want to tie your hands because of attorney client privilege. If you agree to a public debate, I can release you from that.
