I cannot speak to the experiences reflected in the many five-star reviews here. I can only speak to mine. If your employment case involves any real complexity or significant stakes, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I hired Michael and worked with him for years. Throughout that time, I was repeatedly given assurances about my case and what we were pursuing. When it ultimately mattered, however, his position changed dramatically from what I had been led to expect. During mediation—the moment when I needed my attorney to advocate forcefully for my case and its value—I did not experience that advocacy. I experienced silence, fee disagreements and a complete reversal of what we had agreed upon. That is particularly difficult to accept after years of representation. When you hire an employment lawyer, you are already in an unenviable position. You are relying on that attorney not simply to process your case, but to understand its value, stand behind the positions he has communicated to you, and fight hard for the best possible outcome. That was not my experience. I ultimately walked away feeling that I had spent years being told what I wanted to hear, only to discover at the most consequential moment that my attorney was not prepared to advocate for the case in the way I had been led to believe he would. The consequences of that are mine to live with, not his. If I could make the decision again, I would hire someone else.
