This is my first time ever speaking publicly about this, but I can’t stay quiet anymore.

My name is Sarah Grace Green and back in July 2025 I signed adoption papers while under extreme emotional distress and duress. Debbie, I tried reaching out to you after everything because I wanted you to hear me out and understand what was really going on, but I felt dismissed. I was basically told I “wasn’t forced” and that was that.

What hurts the most is when the judge asked me if I was being forced into the adoption, the adoptive mom was sitting right there in the room. I did not feel safe enough to say how I truly felt. I was scared, overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, and felt like I had nobody protecting me. I don’t know every law about adoption, but I do know signing away rights to your child is supposed to be voluntary, and that is not how this felt for me at all.

I feel like my daughter was practically stolen from me. I didn’t even get to name my own baby. I carried her for 9 months, loved her before she was even born, and then felt like I lost all say in her life. The biological father never signed away his rights to my knowledge, and I wasn’t even allowed to mention him. I was pressured about what I was supposed to say, and it made me sound like I just “slept around,” which was humiliating and untrue. The adoption is invalid I believe since the adoptive mom knew who the baby daddy was and told me not to mention him and made threats.

Throughout my pregnancy I was dealing with emotional abuse, threats, and pressure from people around me, including my dad and Shannon, who is related to the adoptive mom. Instead of feeling supported during one of the most vulnerable times of my life, I felt mentally broken down.

Debbie, I genuinely want to ask you how would you feel if you were in my shoes? If your baby was taken from you, if you were terrified to speak up, if you felt pressured the entire pregnancy, if you weren’t even allowed to properly mention the biological father, or name your daughter and then afterward nobody wanted to hear your side? How would you feel living with that pain every single day?

I never even got the chance to truly be her mom. I didn’t get to properly bond with her or make important choices for her life. Losing her has devastated me and changed me forever. There is not a single day that goes by where I don’t think about my daughter and wonder if she will ever know how much I loved her and how badly I wanted to keep her.

I am asking for my adoption case and everything surrounding it to be looked into because I truly do not believe my emotional state or the circumstances I was under were taken seriously. I will be sharing videos, screenshots, and other proof to back up my experience and why I feel the way I do.
