I have worked with many attorneys over my 30+ year corporate career and through my personal business ventures. Unfortunately, my experience with Attorney Bruce Preissman was the worst I have ever had.

From the start, the interaction felt hostile and adversarial. Rather than listening and asking clarifying questions, he immediately challenged everything I said in a manner that felt more like a cross-examination than a consultation. It left me feeling as though my credibility was being questioned rather than my legal issue being evaluated. He then stated that he would not consider the case on a contingency basis. Then later said would only proceed with a paid retainer. When I asked whether he believed in the merits of the case and whether he would personally hire himself under those circumstances, he responded that he would not. That answer made my decision clear.

To add to the frustration, I later received a letter stating how “nice it was to meet” me and that he was not interested in taking the case—despite the fact that said he would have been willing to do so had I agreed to pay a retainer. This felt disingenuous and left a very poor impression.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this attorney. Professionalism, respect, and good faith matter, especially when someone is seeking legal guidance during a difficult situation, and this experience fell far short of that standard. His actions are why attorneys get a bad rep.
