Golden Law Group did a good job navigating through a long process. Staff was pleasant and efficient.

I generally give businesses a lot of professional courtesy, especially as someone who is self-employed. That said, my experience with this firm during my Chapter 7 filing was consistently frustrating and disorganized.

The biggest issue is communication—or lack of it. I raised this multiple times with different people in the office, and nothing improved. Important emails were not sent unless I followed up repeatedly by phone, email, or even showing up in person. At one point, I was I got a letter in the mail stating that I could face additional costs due to delays, even though those delays were caused entirely by the firm’s lack of responsiveness.

I made a point to clearly communicate all assets and liabilities throughout the process. Despite that, when it came time for the final signing, the attorney I met with (for the first time) was learning about these for the first time.

To be clear, my interactions with the actual attorneys were generally good—professional, straightforward, and competent. The problem is that you spend maybe 5% of your time with them. The other 95% is with a case manager / assistant, and that’s where all my issues have been.

I repeatedly asked for a different case worker after ongoing issues with unanswered emails and unreturned calls. That request was verbally addressed but remained unchanged. When I did receive callbacks, they were often at 5:30 PM—despite me clearly stating multiple times that I’m unavailable then due to picking up my child. Since the office closes at 5:00 PM, it made it impossible to return those calls.

I understand firms are busy and handle large caseloads. This wasn’t that. This was a pattern of poor communication, lack of follow-through, and no accountability. Basic expectations—like acknowledging receipt of documents, sending promised information, or respecting stated availability—were consistently missed.

Just know that you will need to stay on top of them to make sure you don't remain at the bottom of someones pile.
