My experience working with Matthew Clendenin has been deeply frustrating and anxiety-inducing. I was referred to Matthew after a car accident retriggered my brain injury from a past car accident and caused debilitating whiplash/rib trauma.
My first experience as Matthew's client was ubering to a doctors appointment (couldn't drive due to head trauma) just to find that his firm had cancelled my medical appointment without notifying me. I had to uber home withough being seen. When I was finally seen by the doctor Clendenin referred me to, it was the worst medical experience of my life (check out my review for Dr. Hosalkar if curious about my experience). When I told Clendenin that his medical buddy came in 45 mins late and spoke into a recorder (not to me) about my ailments, he dismissed me with a snarky comment.
At this point, I realised that I had chosen the wrong firm. Clendenin's continued rudeness, referrals to Good ol' Boys Club medical providers that treated me like a barnacle, and cancelling of my medical appointments led me to call our mutual acquaintance to discuss my options. We decided that my best bet was to communicate through the mutual acquaintance to try to wrap everything up with my case. We communicated this way for months, until my case was settled and I had to communicate with Clendenin directly about getting my settlement.
That was a year and a half ago. According to Clendenin, the medical providers he referred me to haven't invoiced him properly. I still haven't received my final accident settlement. I have to communicate with Clendenin weekly and he keeps throwing delays in my payment. Working with his firm has been incredibly dehumanising, frustrating, and time consuming. If you don't want to be thrust into the midst of a chauvinistic boys club where your medical recovery is treated like an inconvenience, look elsewhere. I wish I had.
