Avoid Ernie Castillo - Incompetent & Unreliable

I reached out to Ernie Castillo after seeing him on the news advocating for a high-profile client, hoping to find a fierce defender for my case. As a local businessman and philanthropist, I was accused of assaulting and robbing an immigrant in broad daylight, with no witnesses or evidence to support the claims—just the accuser’s testimony.

From the start, I was disappointed with Ernie’s service. Over the course of nine months, I had eight court appearances, yet he only showed up for one. The other seven times, he sent a substitute via Zoom, which raised huge red flags about his commitment and professionalism.

When prosecutor Bob Ross piled on more unfounded charges and revoked my bail, Ernie was completely unavailable. This lack of support forced us to terminate his services and seek help from the Tony Serra law firm. Upon taking over my case, my new attorneys discovered that Ernie had filed nothing and requested nothing on my behalf, setting us back significantly as we had to scramble to request all necessary documentation.

While Ernie did refund a portion of my retainer, it was of little comfort while I was sitting in jail awaiting discovery. If Ernie had done his job properly, he would have easily seen that the accuser failed to identify me in a double-blind lineup twice. He also would have discovered the accuser’s history of violence, including a strike for an unprovoked attack where he nearly severed a man’s ear.

In summary, my experience with Ernie Castillo was nothing short of a nightmare. I do not recommend his services to anyone seeking competent legal representation. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

Would like to start off with saying that he is one of the most caring humans I know. He has helped me and my family many times. Everytime I call to ask a question or voice a concern he answers immediately and always has a positive solution to what can happen or not happen etc... I have never felt so calm and understood. Mr. Castillo is highly recommended and a great attorney. I have known him for many years and have never been disappointed. He will tell you exactly what he thinks and will not sugarcoat anything.
