When my very young children went missing for three days, during a high conflict divorce, he didn’t return my desperate calls for help. I had to go through victim advocacy group to get a restraining order & temp custody, which was granted. Only then did he call me back, using strong expletives and told me “now you’re going to look like a b——!” Following his advice, I dropped the restraining order. My ex returned with the kids after hiding and hotel hopping, for three excruciatingly long days, refusing to cooperate with police. The failure to adequately represent me and my family only worsened exponentially. I call into question the many vows lawyers take during their oath. I will never get justice; I know that. I was too late. I pray I am not the only one who lives with this daily; most importantly, I will pray my three kids, all adults now, will get a three word letter from him, to be open before or after his life. They deserve an apology for what they can never reclaim, an important childhood foundation, the deliberate failure to protect and the honor of that oath he took years ago. He doesn’t really get two stars, but a ‘zero stars’ review would certainly be removed; that doesn’t make a single word untrue. He knows that.

I would leave zero stars if that were an option. My experience with Poppe was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend him. In my opinion, his approach to family-law cases can contribute to outcomes that feel deeply unfair, particularly for fathers who are trying to remain actively involved in their children’s lives. Based on what I personally witnessed, I strongly disagreed with how information and evidence were presented and handled throughout the case, and I was extremely frustrated with the outcome. Family-law cases have real and lasting consequences for parents and children, and I believe attorneys involved in these cases should prioritize fairness, accountability, and the best interests of the children. To make my experience even more frustrating, I was subpoenaed to appear as a witness and, as of the date of this review, I have still not received the witness payment I am owed. Despite fulfilling my obligation and appearing as required, the payment remains outstanding. Overall, my experience left me with serious concerns about the professionalism and handling of this matter. I sincerely hope others carefully research their options before choosing representation.

I cannot recommend Terry highly enough. He has represented me for nearly 10 years through an incredibly long and difficult family law case, and throughout every stage he was knowledgeable, honest, professional, and confident in his understanding of the law. (I have won every proceeding may I add) Terry never made promises he couldn't keep, but he always gave me straightforward advice and helped me understand what to expect. My attorney was poppe he told me we would get things done quickly. I spent 1000$ to have them file my divorce back in June of 2024. I personally delivered the signed papers stating my ex received the divorce papers, should have had a court date set up in the next 60 days. The court date was never set.They needed to make 3 small changed to the agreement. I continuously tried contacting them via email and phone calls. Never returned any of my attempts for communication. Finally in November i was told they were waiting for me to complete a parenting class. I completed it with in the week, then it immediately when back to no communication. It is now late april of 2025. I had to find out through other channels that my divorce had actually been dismissed at this point. They told me they had no idea and that sometimes that just happenes but they weren’t aware of it. I then stated i wanted my retainer fee back and I would be going elsewhere. His receptionist said she sent an email to the financial department and they would be sending it. I waited about a month before contacting the financial department myself, his receptionist had never sent the email in the first place. So now one year later I spent 1000$ for them to file my motion for divorce and absolutely nothing else. I could have gotten the same pdf from google. Horrible communication, they will dodge emails and phone calls. I even asked to set another meeting with poppe himself and the receptionist would not make me one. Save your money and your time.

No communication. I have left countless messages for months. I’m divorced but have been waiting years for my settlement. Do not hire!
