What stood out most in our interactions with Stokes Lawrence was the firm’s approach to the record and communications.

In our experience, the firm relied heavily on enforcement language and broad accusations, while avoiding direct engagement with the underlying written record. When we responded using timestamped emails and contemporaneous documents, the posture did not shift toward clarifying facts or reconciling inconsistencies. Instead, communications tended to reframe issues through selective characterization rather than document-based correction.

Equally telling were the non-responses. When we asked for clarification or invited the firm to identify what, specifically, was false, the lack of a substantive reply spoke for itself. Repeated non-answers and unsuccessful attempts to challenge factual statements say a lot about the strength of the narrative being advanced.

Rather than disproving what we raised, the firm’s replies tended to confirm a pattern of pressure and deterrence, with little direct engagement with the record.
