What stood out most in our interactions with Stokes Lawrence was the firm's approach to the record and communications.

In our experience, the firm relied heavily on enforcement language and broad accusations, while avoiding direct engagement with the underlying written record. When we responded using timestamped emails and contemporaneous documents, the posture did not shift toward clarifying facts or reconciling inconsistencies. Instead, communications tended to reframe issues through selective characterization rather than document-based correction.

Equally telling were the non-responses. When we asked for clarification or invited the firm to identify what, specifically, was false, the lack of a substantive reply spoke for itself. Repeated non-answers and unsuccessful attempts to challenge factual statements say a lot about the strength of the narrative being advanced.

Rather than disproving what we raised, the firm's replies tended to confirm a pattern of pressure and deterrence, with little direct engagement with the record. The more the firm responded, the less credible the opposing narrative appeared. Their communications did not resolve inconsistencies; they highlighted them. When counsel's position conflicts with the client's own contemporaneous emails and documents, it reflects poorly on the client and makes the overall story harder to trust.

For context, we interacted with Stokes Lawrence while it represented the other side. If you are considering hiring this firm, we recommend getting clarity upfront on strategy and objectives. In our experience, the posture leaned more toward liability containment and escalation than factual reconciliation or resolution.

Stokes Lawrence failed my family when we needed them most. My father hired them with a very clear and urgent goal: to protect my legal rights in the event he became incapacitated. Despite knowing this, they drafted documents that ultimately did not protect me -- and never warned us that such a devastating failure was even possible.

When I sought answers and help after the fact, I was met with delayed responses, hollow apologies, and empty referrals to other attorneys who "might" help -- with no real effort to correct the damage they caused. Their handling of this situation showed a complete lack of care, accountability, and professionalism.

Hiring an attorney is an act of trust. Stokes Lawrence broke that trust completely. They were negligent when drafting critical documents, negligent in advising us, and negligent in standing behind their work when problems emerged.

If you value your family's well-being, your legal rights, and your peace of mind, stay far away from Stokes Lawrence. They are not the experts or advocates they claim to be.
