Response to Stevens Law Firm’s Response I understand that Stevens Law Firm is bound by attorney-client confidentiality, and I am not asking them to disclose confidential information publicly. However, confidentiality does not prevent me from sharing my own experience as the person who retained and paid the firm and was directly involved in the matter. Their response says they disagree with my characterization, but it does not address the specific concerns I raised. My concerns are not simply about the outcome of the case. They include the length of the representation, the communication, the repeated requests for additional funds, the lack of a clear billing breakdown during the representation, and the way my brother was spoken to during a phone conversation with Brandon Stevens. My brother was asked to provide a declaration concerning what happened and expenses associated with his case. He provided a truthful account. Some travel and rental-car expenses had been paid by my mother as a loan, and my brother subsequently repaid her. I was present on the phone when Brandon Stevens called my brother a liar and strongly challenged what he had written. Regardless of any disagreement with the declaration, I found the manner in which the situation was handled extremely unprofessional. That conversation was a major reason I lost trust and confidence in the attorney-client relationship. The representation lasted more than two years, during which substantial legal fees were paid and additional funds were requested. Yet even after the relationship was terminated, I was still waiting for a complete billing and accounting. More than six weeks later, I was being told that it would take additional weeks to complete it. That is a legitimate concern for a paying client. Most importantly, I now have the benefit of comparing that experience with our new counsel. Within approximately one month of retaining the new firm, we have experienced a level of organization, communication, document preparation, and billing transparency that has been very different from what we experienced previously. I am not claiming that every client will have the same experience we did. I am sharing our experience so that anyone considering this firm can make an informed decision. If you are considering hiring an attorney for a high-conflict custody or family-law matter, I strongly recommend interviewing multiple attorneys, asking how they communicate with clients, understanding exactly how billing works, and asking how frequently you will receive an accounting of your fees. If I could give Brandon Stevens ten stars, I would. When it comes to the law, Brandon is an absolute miracle worker. He recently helped my family navigate a very complicated international immigration situation, advising my uncle (a U.S. citizen in Ecuador) on the exact steps needed to secure a permanent visa and green card for his Ecuadorian wife. Very disappointed with how he handled my son’s case. While they responded back to my previous review stating that they care for their clients is FAR from the truth! A contractual agreement was made that my son’s case will be addressed in court. But they weee sucking my son. Constantly asking for money with ZERO results! And then as a standard practice there were no billing to support it. The response they sent in the email when asked about the funds paid last when NOTHING else was done prior to termination was that it was used for their expenses. DONT BE A FOOL LIKE WE WERE! You will not get any results. They will take your money and nothing and I mean NOTHING was done in a long 2 years of dealing with this firm! Absolutely disgusted that they practice law! God is the ultimate judge for the money they ripped us all. And that was money that was agreed he was going to file for the other party to pay. They are deceiving and don’t hold on to the value of the law and clients. Learn from our mistake!
