An attorney is supposed to act as the last line of defense, not the facilitator. Steven Hall has the highest duty to protect vulnerable elders from undue influence. Last minute trust amendments, removing family members in favor of caregivers needs to be scrutinized.
Were mandatory safeguards executed? If not why?
Were there conflicts of interest? Who drove my 94-year-old family member to the attorney?
Who hired the attorney?
Who set the appointments?
Was the caregiver present at the meetings.
And yes Steven K Hall became the lawyer of the caregiver immediately after my family member died. I am happy to share the last minute amendments Steve Hall allowed my family member sign in his last year of life. The last one being days before he went into the hospital and died.
If you are dealing with a lawyer that is willing to take advantage of a 94 year old who has had a stroke and is dependent on a care giver this is my advice…contact a HONEST & MORAL estate lawyer immediately!!!
Before Stephen K. Hall became involved, my parent’s trust stood for 33 years as a typical “two sons 50/50” arrangement. About 1 year before my dad’s passing, Hall facilitated an amendment that kicked me off as trustee and gave the only other trustee, beneficiary, and caretaker 100% of the amendable portion of the trust. Then, days before my 94 year old father’s passing and after dad had experienced a stroke, Hall attempted, unsuccessfully, to work around CA state law (a bypass trust) via another amendment. This amendment would have given the remaining trustee “sole…absolute…discretion” over the entire estate. All the while, despite my father’s requests, content of these amendments was not provided to me.
Hall’s actions chopped off half of Jens and Judy Bogesvang’s family tree, including their only grandchild.
Hall’s work says a lot about who he actually is. Is Stephen K. Hall the lawyer you want to do business with?
Jim A. Bogesvang
Every lawyer that has read, Steven Halls amendments to a 94 yr old man has said the same thing… He’s dangerous.
I am writing this review as a family member devastated by the actions of Stephen K. Hall. Mr. Hall was the attorney who facilitated major changes to a long-standing 35-year-old family trust for a 94-year-old man..
Be cautious with Steven Hall.I will spend every day of my life warning people of lawyers like Steven Hall. The damage Steven Hall created was immense. I don’t know how he sleeps at night, but I don’t want anyone to suffer like we have.
I am deeply concerned about how Steven Hall handled my family’s trust. A 94-year-old man under full-time care was permitted to sign documents that effectively removed original family beneficiaries, allowing his only
caregiver to take full control of the trust. This situation raises serious ethical and professional questions about due diligence, mental capacity, and fiduciary responsibility. I would urge anyone considering hiring Steven Hall to ask very detailed questions about how they protect vulnerable elders before signing any documents.
