About 8 years ago during my divorce, I was unfortunately advised (too late) by the wife of at least one other attorney in town who told me to "stay away from Steve if you can. He will destroy your case, suck your well dry, and then keep digging for money".

Unfortunately, it was too late for me in my case and I was deep in expenses to have reversed my decision. Sadly, like an atomic clock, her advice came out to be true with unresounding accuracy.

Moreover, on 2 separate occasions, he failed to even read my emails and attachments, resulting in him being surprised about facts I was bringing up minutes before a trial on one occasion.

If this is the type of attorney you want in your corner, more power to you all.

I was Mr. Wilkinson's client in a divorce and multi-chapter custody fight 20 years ago. I retained him at the time because he was the local attorney with the best reputation in terms of getting custody for men. I have myself have practiced family law (and criminal law) in this community these past 20 years and consequently have cases against him from time to time. While others have their own opinions, I still consider him to be the best in the county in terms of family law and believe him to be highly capable in the context of other civil litigation. He seeks his client's objectives, keeps his own emotions in check, is organized and effective, and in my cases was completely ethical in his billing practices.
