We were referred to Stephanie Alcala by an attorney from out of town when a close friend of our family was detained and eventually transferred to California. It was a stressful and confusing situation, especially with him being moved so far away and us not really knowing what to expect. Stephanie was very helpful from the beginning. She is very personable, easy to communicate with, and works hard for her clients. She always responded to us in a timely manner and took the time to explain what was happening and what our options were. We also appreciated how willing she was to work with us and how available she made herself when we had questions. She filed a habeas corpus petition and handled the bond hearing, and thankfully we had a successful outcome. We were extremely relieved and grateful for everything she did to help us through the process. We are very glad the other attorney referred us to Stephanie. We would definitely recommend Stephanie as an immigration attorney, especially to anyone dealing with a difficult immigration or detention situation.

I had no idea they were charging me not only for emails, but for phone calls and text as well and when I didn’t hear from them, I was always calling them and texting that wracked up the amount that I owed. Extra money to speak to lawyer . She may be a good immigration lawyer, but a divorce lawyer I would not recommend so glad my nightmare is over

If you’re looking for a lawyer who treats you with professionalism, clarity, or even basic respect… you might want to look literally anywhere else. My experience felt less like speaking to an attorney and more like being lectured by someone who thinks sarcasm counts as expertise. Despite the confidence she has in herself, I unfortunately didn’t see that reflected in the actual service provided. Communication was dismissive, unhelpful, and carried an unnecessary “I’m smarter than you” tone that made the entire process frustrating. I genuinely recommend saving yourself the stress and choosing another attorney. There are plenty of professionals out there who know the law without needing to undermine their clients.
