For 365 days I hired & worked with the office of Van Dyken in divorce with minor children. I felt unheard & treated as a number by SVD. Words and actions did NOT line up. There was little to no follow up and lack of communication by SVD. I feel, this is more of a "turn and burn" law office. Quite possibly she chooses whom to fully represent, with little to no bedside manner. Mediation was a flop. Van Dyken had no input with mediator for my request of 70% parenting time.
Everything went to court deadline with NO communication prior or even after court dates/video calls. I needed and wanted good legal divorce guidance, advice and follow through. only -/+10% of emails were answered and fewer percentage of phone calls returned.
Often times, I left her office in tears, even more confused with unanswered questions, feeling lost, gaslit & asking myself "what am I paying her for?". Prior to filing, I did divorce attorney research, I felt so CONFIDENT with her. I was encouraged seeing her reputation as a "bulldog." I did not see it.
I.was.wrong. by hiring SVD.

Find someone else.
I am now "divorcing" my divorce attorney in order to move forward with another. Good luck it's an exhausting journey going through divorce.
