I experienced a perhaps legally and financially damaging experience after obtaining counsel from Spence Curnalia, LLC. After initially being assured that one of their attorneys would take my divorce case, one that included disclosed emotional abuse and the attempt at obtaining an order of protection, I was told weeks later when I finally was able to schedule an appointment to see what the status of my case was, not only that my action to try to protect my assets could backfire, given undue advantage to my husband (the very reason for my numerous, but unsuccessful, attempts to contact my attorney and speak with him), but I was told that the attorney would no longer represent me because “he had lost an assistant” and no longer had the ability to manage an already established contentious divorce case. Not only did the actions of this law firm negatively affect my divorce case in numerous ways, but the unprecedented unprofessional behavior of their associates boggles my mind. If I knew that the possibility even existed that I would lose their support in such a way that I would be left without any legal representation at all at a time when even the attorney in question admitted in a follow up letter that I needed to immediately obtain other counsel, I never would have hired Spence Curnalia in the first place. It’s unfortunate the firm lost a staff member, but as a result, the question remains as to whether my divorce case has been irreparably damaged due to my inability to immediately seek out another attorney.
