Southern Oregon Public Defenders

Lori Norman was my defender and was more against me than the state had been. I asked for a different lawyer and she denied me telling me I am guilty and she was not willing to take her time and not willing to hand me off to another lawyer based on the time she had spent on my case. Lori told me I had “done this before” it was completely out of line. This was my first offense in my life. I never had a pretrial, never had an offer. I was sent straight in front of the judge with every intent of being held to the fullest extent of the law all cause she would not put in any sort of work to help me plead my case. Beware of this place. If not the whole office Lori at least is a hazard. Public defender paid by the same people trying to prosecute you is the worst example and the bar is set in this county. What a joke. The case was thrown out in the end. No thanks to Lori but my own efforts to prove my innocence. I would say the majority of decent reviews here are from crimes that don’t require much work or run around.

Receptionist Elsa is absolutely disrespectful & has a disgusting attitude. Ask me why I was venting on the phone when I was just stating I was returning calls to my attorney & was told I would receive contact by the end of the week the previous week. She snapped at me that I had 2 options. Make an appointment or get sent to voicemail. When I asked her name she spelled it out to me & talked super slow, but loud & assertive like I was a child. I said I would just call back later & she sent me straight to voicemail before I got to finish my sentence. I see many bad reviews about her too.

My attorney is the best one I have had experience with. I would suggest Colin Murphy from Southern Oregon Public Defender's office to anyone seeking legal advice.
