I hired Michael Weil to represent me in a matter against my ex-wife, who has a really nasty attorney. After signing the S&W retainer agreement, and making a $10,000 retainer payment, my ex-wife's lawyer contacted the firm and told them to not represent me. Within 24 hours, S&K told me that they could no longer represent me. What makes matters worse, though, is that they wouldn't provide me with the reason -- Mr. Weil told me it was about his "case load." Which didn't seem to a problem less than 24 hours prior, when the retainer agreement was executed and the $10,000 was paid to the firm.

If you are looking for a firm/attorney to represent you in a highly contested matrimonial matter, you likely want an attorney representing you who takes their own client's word over their ex-spouse's attorney's word. Or, AT THE VERY LEAST, has a conversation with their own client about it.

That, clearly, would not be this firm.
