Scott helped us with a contested adoption, and he clearly has a lot of expertise in this area. The outcome was superb and without him the judge would have made a wrong decision; with tact he helped make sure the adoption code/law was followed. He showed kindness to all including the opposite party. Scheduled meetings were helpful since communication between meetings is limited.

Scott Sherlund was a deeply disappointing and unprofessional attorney. In hindsight, he could have been easily replaced by AI and the outcome would have likely been better. He was unprepared, difficult to communicate with, and overall useless when it came to handling my case.

Despite my extensive efforts - writing my own defense basically, settlement proposals, and detailed case explanations - Scott showed little understanding or experience in dealing with domestic violence matters, despite his claimed 25 years of "practicing law." I unfortunately realized this too late.

He frequently complained about how busy he was, admitted to confusing me with other clients, and showed up to trial completely unprepared. None of my witnesses were prepared for testimony, and it became clear he had no serious trial strategy. His performance in court made it obvious that trial work is not his strength.

After appearing unprepared during a critical trial hearing, Scott wrongly assumed I would accept an unfair settlement. When I hesitated, explaining that I felt coerced given the lack of real options he had left me with, he abruptly withdrew as my attorney-mid-trial- in a case involving domestic violence and custody of my young children.

He charged me $10,000 and delivered absolutely nothing of value. I also believe he acted unethically, showing clear bias likely influenced by his prior relationship with my mother (a former client), who was involved in the complicated dynamics around my case.

In the end, Scott Sherlund proved himself to be not just incompetent, but a coward.
