I got more legal advice, useful information and steps to take moving forward from Laplante in an hour consult than I ever did from Shelby in a year or more of representation. If I knew then what I know now. I wouldn’t have EVER agreed on the first modification. It’s also been a month or so since the most recent mod was signed and of course a certified copy hasn’t been sent. A whole joke. But ya live and learn.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This review is a year overdue but Shelby deserves recognition then, now, and in the future.

I don’t have a lot of experience with attorneys, court cases, but Mrs. Scott and her staff were great. Probably the biggest thing I noticed is that they took much of the pressure of going through something like this from me by communicating well and knowing that things were being handled without being left in the dark.

Shelby was appointed ad Litem for the child I now have custody of. Initially the child was going to be awarded custody to someone the grandparents did not want, only because he was a resident of Alabama. Shelby heard the situation took time to listen to everyone involved. Never once did she rush anything, she listened attentively and recommended the best for the child, not the state. I highly respect that kind of integrity in a human, if you hire her, you will have her full attention for the best outcome in your situation.
