I signed a contingency representation agreement with Seattle Litigation Group in June '25 regarding an employment matter. The contingency arrangement was proposed by the firm, and we executed a signed contract.

After some additional work and communication, I was told the firm had “misunderstood” aspects of the situation and now believed the PRA claim was not economically viable on contingency. They asked to change the agreement to an hourly fee arrangement instead.

I declined to change the contract that had already been signed (and in hindsight, I'm EXTREMELY glad that I didn't change the fee structure). At that point the firm withdrew from representation.

The experience cost me significant time, effort, and energy that I could have spent pursuing other counsel.

Anyone considering working with this firm should be aware that even after signing a representation agreement, the firm may change their mind based on facts they could have already understood and ascertained prior to recommending the contingency fee structure.
