Federal court is incredibly intimidating, especially when you find yourself there through no fault of your own. I knew I needed the best representation possible, and choosing John Stobaugh was the best decision I think I could have made. I felt genuinely supported and knew my case was in good hands. John resolved my issue successfully, and when a follow-up matter arose a year later, he was right there to help. If you need a lawyer who truly has your back, this is the firm you want.

I hired Jacob Ray when he worked here in September of 2020 to represent me in a custody case involving my daughters. At the time I lived in Florida and was desperate for help getting my children back home. I trusted that hiring an attorney meant my case would be actively handled and that someone would actually fight for me and my rights as a mother. Unfortunately, that is not what happened.

In the entire time I was represented, we had only one court date in January 2021. After that hearing, my case never moved forward again. There were no additional court dates scheduled. Instead, I was met with continuance after continuance, with no real progress being made and very little communication about why my case continued to be pushed off because we moved a lot.

Months turned into years. I watched time pass while my case sat stagnant and my children remained out of my life.

I left to follow Jacob only to come back to me stobaugh. The court eventually ordered mediation. In an effort to move the case forward myself, I personally found and arranged a mediator. Even after doing that work on my own, the mediation never even took place. I was told it was delayed because we were finishing property matters in Florida, and after that everything seemed to completely fall apart again.

The most shocking part of this experience was when my case was dropped after I filed bankruptcy without any warning or communication to me at all. I was never properly notified, never given guidance on what steps I needed to take next, and never given the opportunity to protect my case before it was essentially abandoned.

Because of the lack of progress, lack of urgency, and lack of communication throughout this process, I have now gone nearly six years without contact with my children. No parent should ever have to live through that while believing their attorney is working on their case.

To make matters worse, trying to hire a new attorney after all of this has been nearly impossible because most require thousands of dollars in retainers that I simply cannot afford after everything I’ve already spent trying to fight for my kids.

I hired this firm believing they would advocate for me and help me reunite with my daughters. Instead, my case sat untouched for years while time with my children was lost time that I will never get back and may never have.

The evidence I have is damning but will never be seen

Mr. Snowball (stoughbaugh) was the the most worthless attorney I’ve ever had in my life paid him $8,000 and all he did was ask for continuance after continuance after continuance, him and his even more worthless secretary ended up getting me an FTA for telling me a court date was canceled when it wasn’t so I had to go turn myself in get processed and luckily the judge was understanding about the whole ordeal. I can’t speak on this law firm as a whole but snowball sucks!!!! I ended up having to hire another attorney and lost the $8,000 I paid him for nothing. Don’t hire stobaugh!!!
