To the Good Folks at Sanger, Hanley, Sanger & Avila: I wanted to share our deep appreciation for your services and guidance through a difficult time for our family. Our 20 year-old son was involved in a traffic incident and charged with a DUI, even though his blood alcohol level was well below what is considered the legal limit, since he was under the age of 21. Knowing we needed excellent legal representation, we researched attorneys in the Santa Barbara area who specialized in this type of case, one of them being Sanger, Hanley, Sanger and Avila (SHSA for short). After several interviews, we hired SHSA since Michael Hanely, Joakim Tan and Sofia Clifford took an extraordinary amount of time to clearly and patiently articulate how the process would unfold and what we should expect. Having no experience in such matters, we often needed the staff to explain things to us that they had already said before. In each instance, I was able to get my questions thoroughly answered with a single phone call…never having to leave a message and wait for a response. Usually, it was Sofia Clifford or Joakim Tan who took our calls and never once made us feel as if we were inconveniencing them or suggesting that they already covered that (which was usually true). Throughout the nearly five months, the firm kept us informed step by step as they worked through the various court dates and hearings. After having him diagnosed, it was determined that he suffers from Bi-Polar syndrome, and was experiencing a severe manic episode at the time of his accident. SHSA collected the documents showing this to be the case and were able to argue in our favor to have the charges against him significantly reduced. We are aware that this took extra effort and care on the part of our defense team and are extremely grateful for their diligence and professionalism. I'm not sure what's going on with the negative reviews here; I believe those might be fake, as my experience with this team was absolutely wonderful. This is a truly honest team, and I mean really, really honest. They helped me immensely with both the process and the financial aspects.
