I came to know Ms Godwin in December of 2022 when I was detained by the US Marshall's via local authorities. The federal system is alot different from a state legal system. She was always available while I was detained, and she never sugar coated anything. When it came to my sentencing day, she was literally a bulldog which is what I needed. In the end she got me a non-custodial punishment which was basically probation vs a 4-8yr federal sentence. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

My son decided to go with a court appointed attorney, Rosemary Godwin. I initially thought she was acting in my son's best interest. We heard very promising things of course but the outcome was very different.

My son's motion of discovery was overlooked. Wrong information was discovered after I picked up my son's personal belongings and read through the massive paperwork. She also allowed improper admitted evidence.

After his sentencing, for possession of a firearm...she asked me how long my son has been sitting....Isn't this pertinent information that an attorney should know? Her next response was he got a little more time than she anticipated. She miscalculated the amount of time that he had been sitting in county.

That response from an attorney is never permissible. And the fact that wrong information was in my son's motion of discovery. She didn't realize it, correct it or file an appeal.

If you can not properly represent each client then maybe you should take on less responsibility. Each client deserves fair representation and a chance at a fair justice system if that exists.
