My husband and I hired the firm Rojas and Nicholson to represent us in Probate Court to win Guardianship of our grandson who had been living with us for years. The absentee noncustodial father opposed our initial petition that we filed by ourselves, and a trial was scheduled by the Probate Court. Original opposing counsel had been harassing me via text messages, so we needed to hire an attorney to intervene on our behalf. Initially we interviewed with Keeley Nicholson. She had another matter scheduled for our trial date, so she turned us over to her associate, Kelsey Thweatt. I can not say enough remarkable things about Kelsey. She was always very responsive and understood the nature of our case as we prepared for trial. The other side tried to throw several hurdles in our way and Kelsey professionally addressed them. She always filed proper paperwork with the court on time. The day of trial finally came, and we felt well represented and prepared. Kelsey managed to get all the opposing sides exhibits and witnesses thrown out and not admitted because opposing counsel had not filed them in a timely manner. The opposing side was ill prepared with their whole case. Kelsey presented the facts in the case in her filing and oral arguments. We prevailed and we were granted Guardianship of our Grandson.
Kelsey is professional, calm under pressure, understands local rules of court, responsive, and we worked very well together. I highly recommend her.
