Robert F Jacobs Law Office

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with this office. I paid in advance for a second consultation. The attorney requested a document that I genuinely tried to obtain but was ultimately unable to get. On the day the receptionist called to collect my payment, I explained that I could not obtain the document and that I had already paid. I was told she would speak with the attorney about issuing me a refund. I never received a refund or a follow-up call. About a month later, I called for an update and was told they needed to speak with the attorney, who was apparently going on vacation. I was never contacted afterward. I eventually emailed the attorney directly and received no response. I called again and was once again told they needed to speak with the attorney. Eventually, I was told that the office would refund my money. I waited another week, but still received no call or refund. When I called back because I had not received anything, I was suddenly told that it was now “too late” for a refund and that they needed to speak with the attorney again. When they finally called me back, I was told I would only receive HALF of what I paid and that I would have to physically come to their office to pick it up. At no point was I told that I would only receive half of my payment. Had I known that was their policy, I would never have paid in advance. What makes this even more frustrating is that their office is far from me, which is one of the reasons we were doing the consultation virtually in the first place. Now, because of their lack of communication and failure to follow through, I’m expected to spend roughly an hour sitting in traffic just to retrieve money that should have been refunded to me a long time ago.. The entire situation has been incredibly frustrating. They were very quick to contact me when it was time to collect payment, but when it came time to process a refund, I had to repeatedly call, follow up, and chase them down myself. This is supposed to be a reputable law office. I expected much better communication, organization, and follow-through on something as basic as a refund. Clients should not have to repeatedly call an office to get a resolution to an issue that the office itself said it would handle. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office.

Good luck trying to have anyone return your phone call. These people treat a person as just paperwork to file, they don’t realize or respect this is someone’s life. You’re better off reaching hermandad Mexicana because this lawyer and the paralegals are not worth your headache or the thousands of dollars they charge.
