I had a bond for deed sale closing at Regan Law Firm on December 18, 2024, and it was the worst experience I’ve had with a closing. Before and during the closing, I specifically asked about my escrow account and whether I should close it out to avoid being double-charged for property taxes and insurance. Rick Regan and his team assured me that I did not need to do anything, and they would handle it after closing.

At the closing, the settlement statement charged me for 2024 property taxes, and I made sure to confirm with Rick that I wouldn’t be charged again through my escrow account. He assured me it wouldn’t happen. However, after closing, my mortgage company still deducted the property taxes from my escrow, meaning I was double-charged—due to Regan Law Firm’s incompetence.

I have contacted them multiple times over the last four months, and they have done nothing to resolve the issue. Every time I call, I’m told they’re waiting for a refund from the city and parish before they can pay me back—even though this mistake was their fault. If they were a professional firm, they would refund me first and sort out their own mistake with the city themselves. Instead, they have ignored the issue and failed to take responsibility.

Not only have I personally followed up multiple times, but even my real estate agent has reached out to them several times regarding this issue, yet they have failed to provide a proper response or resolution. This proves that once they’ve completed the deal, they no longer care about their clients or fixing their mistakes.

Rick Regan himself is extremely arrogant and dismissive when questioned. At the closing table, he acted like he knew everything while brushing off my valid concerns. Clearly, he did not have things handled, and now I am paying the price for their negligence.

If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will be filing formal complaints with the Louisiana State Bar Association, the BBB, and any other relevant agencies. I strongly warn anyone considering using Regan Law Firm to stay far away—there are plenty of other firms that actually care about their clients and do their job properly.

Regan Law Firm is unprofessional, unresponsive, and incompetent. Avoid them at all costs.

He can do any closing for real estate, but everyone in Nola knows that if your a buyer or seller for a bond for deed, this is the ONLY OPTION!
Rick and his staff walked myself and the other party they everything and explained everything in great detail.

Last I would like to say that now that it's tax time, I had to call back and get some info.
His staff was so good, that they emailed me what I had asked for in literally a matter of minutes.
My realtor suggested we use Reagan law firm for the closing, and I have no regrets!
