My experience with Queens Volunteer Lawyers Project was extremely disappointing. When I called to ask about the services they provide, I was told it was “confidential” and not explainable. When I asked for the representative’s name, I was told “Operator #1,” and he hung up.

Given the consistent concerns and complaints in other reviews, this seems to be a systemic issue rather than an isolated incident. Grant funds should either be reallocated to a more reputable agency or substantial reforms implemented to ensure competent, professional service. I base this on their frontline communication, since you cannot move forward or access services without effective engagement at that first point of contact.

Jason (who claimed to be a lawyer) was incredibly rude and borderline aggressive in how he spoke. Have never been spoken to with such hostility. Very sad that people seeking services will be treated with such disrespect. Will consider reporting for investigation of bias.

For my particular situation no advice was allowed. The person stated that I best call the legal aide society . Interesting, because it was the legal aide who referred me to them from the start of this call. It's like a shell game. They go into work but they don't want to help or assist the people who are in the most need of their help. Disgraceful to say the least.
