Wow! I can’t believe I hesitated to set up a trust. I’m a retired engineer and have always been a strong believer in doing things myself—from designing satellite networks during my career to creating my own will using online resources. I figured estate planning was something I could handle myself. After attending a free seminar from ProvenLaw, I realized how much I didn’t know. I had no idea how exposed my family and estate could be to probate and other problems that a simple internet-based will may not adequately address. Phillip and Krista took the time to understand our family, our circumstances, and what we wanted to accomplish. They then crafted a comprehensive estate plan for us, including our trust, wills, advance directives, and backup provisions for situations I had never even considered. What impressed me most was how thoroughly they anticipated potential problems. My husband and I had been talking for years about needing to have a will & trust set up, especially because we have adopted 2 kids and we want to be assured the kids will be taken care of should anything happen to us. My husband attended a seminar put on by Proven Law. He was impressed enough that he decided NOW is the time to get our affairs in order. He made an appointment with Phillip, one of the lawyers in the firm. Mark was very impressed with Phillip. He stated he had years of experience, was very knowledgeable and gave great advice and insight regarding our circumstances. After the documents were completed we were emailed a copy. We were given ample time to read, review, make changes (make more changes) 🥴. Krista, a paralegal in the office was so helpful, considerate, and patient. Today we signed the final documents. Mark and I left the PROVEN LAW office feeling very relieved and comfortable with our decisions ( we even went and celebrated at one of our favorite restaurants). We felt that our wishes had definitely been fulfilled. Although it was difficult to make end of life decisions, it felt great to know when our lives come to an end, our children will be taken care of. estate planning seminar was very informative. we learned a lot. we will be coming back to do a trust.
