I wanted to ensure a collaborative and civil divorce for my children’s sake.

I picked Pingel Family Law because I’d read the reviews of Mandee. I wasn’t assigned Mandee at first. When the young attorney who was initially managing my case left the firm, Mandee took over my case.

Mandee is warm, supportive, and 100% no nonsense. She listens well and will remember details about your case that might get lost, but they make a difference. Her interactions with my ex (who was fired by his attorney) were firm, non-combative and professional. I attended court with Mandee, and I was impressed with her poise in front of the judge. In a busy courtroom, the judge has no time or patience for people who don’t know what they’re doing. Mandee is clearly respected, follows procedures, and doesn’t waste the courts’ time.

Mandee will get to the heart of what’s really going on so quickly that it might take you a while to catch up. I realized what a brilliant strategist she was when we were in mediation. The process went on for hours, and was stalling out, until she figured out what kind of negotiation was needed. She quickly proposed a strategy that minimized the impact for me but sealed the deal. The next day, my ex backed out. It was deflating and I was ready to do what I said I wouldn’t do — give up. Mandee was encouraging, and she continued to push until we finally got to the point of resolution. She tackled some really difficult issues and helped me achieve a fair outcome.

Mandee worked closely with my CDFA, Cindy Richey, who is in the left of the photo I took during mediation. Cindy runs her own financial planning company called Prosperity Planning. As a Certified Divorce Financial Planner, Cindy specializes in helping women prepare and plan for divorce and manage financial planning. When it comes to numbers, Cindy is highly analytical and when it comes to details, she is relentless. She worked for months sleuthing through a mess of financial documents and went the extra mile on financial analysis. She had to deliver some pretty bad news to me which she did with compassion. She put together detailed financial projections that helped make a case for needing maintenance, and how much was fair.

These two women fought for me tirelessly when I felt like giving up. I am eternally grateful to them for helping me bring this difficult chapter of my life to a close.

Mandee and her team were recommended to me by my son's therapist. She and her team worked hard to look out for my son's and my best interests. They were professional and got me the results I wanted.

I engaged with the firm in June 2026 for a relocation and parenting plan modification trial. Overall, I spent a lot of money and didn't get a lot in return. I found myself in court rooms correcting my counsel when she was addressing the judge. I asked for help multiple times transferring my child support case to Kansas from a different state, and found out it was not fully completed. I eventually terminated services after losing confidence in their abilities, especially in light of the amount of funds I have spent with them over the years. Despite all the trial prep we did in advance, when my trial day arrived, the firm had failed in the uploading of documents or exhibits to the required online platform required by Johnson County courts. To paraphrase my judge on the day of the trial when it was discovered they had failed to upload all of our exhibits, "your attorney apparently didn't do you any favors". I then spent a few weeks after trial finishing the work of transferring my child support case after some helpful conversations with the court's trustee. Finally - take away what you will from this - but after paying this firm countless thousands of dollars, I saw that the firm was suspended from practicing law in Kansas and then put on a probationary status due to disciplinary action stemming from a complaint, some of which had to do with excessive billing. I also have talked with some friends in family law in the KC area, and they say that the firm is known as "nice", but that the reputation in Johnson County courts is not great.

Overall, my engagement with Pingel law started in June 2025, and ended in January 2026. During that time, I paid almost $30k in fees to the firm to prepare for a relocation trial, as well as a child support transfer case. And in the end, I ended up doing the final work in the courtroom myself.

I was in a high conflict divorce with a narcissist who engaged in mental, emotional and physical abuse. I hired Pingle Family law firm based on their supposed ability to have strong experience with challenges. I could go on forever about their errors, lack of experience, poor ethics and misrepresentation. Suffice it to say I wasted 15k before I hired a different attorney. A few stand outs: (1) HIPAA violations including other client files open and in my view during my in-person meetings, (2) my attorney at the time pushing me to pull my restraining order during mediation in an effort to avoid trial (she literally said “this will affect him his entire life”), lies stating that since I hired them for my divorce they were required to represent me during my restraining order case, (3) violations of client-attorney privilege (their secretary told me “I heard that…..” and went on to tell me what occurred during my mediation meeting). (4) dual relationships with my then spouse’s attorney. I could easily list 6 more events that led to my eventual withdrawal. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I knew I would need a good attorney for my case, Pingel Family Law had such excellent reviews I decided to go with this firm so glad I did. Mandee and her team was amazing very patient, persistent and well organized. Whenever I had questions Mandee assistance, Madison was there to answer. When I went into the office or called everyone was very pleasant with a big smile on their face. Thank you Mandee and the team for working day and night on my case and for the success of my case. Very Grateful 🙏
