My mama’s ex’s current wife’s former sister-in-law - the one who’s only kin if livestock is involved - went up to Cheyenne over a fight about her cows’ genetics. Not oil rights. Not a land grab. Just whose bull had the better resume. She figured she’d get some straight answers. Instead, she got a law office full of folks who couldn’t tell Angus from asphalt but sure knew how to bill like they were litigating a Supreme Court brisket.

They spent weeks “reviewing documents” that were basically vet records and handwritten breeding notes, charged her for every confused question they asked twice, and somehow turned a barnyard disagreement into a five-figure invoice. By the end of it, she knew more about cattle genetics than they did, and they still couldn’t explain the case — but they sure could explain the bill, down to the penny… if they still minted them, in which case they’d definitely round your bill up.

Long story short: I wouldn’t recommend that outfit to my worst enemy, and I’ve got relatives I don’t let borrow tools.
