The experience was a train wreck. My legal outcome was fine - nothing exceptional, but working with her was a disaster. She was initially very charming and encouraging as to what was possible. Then I didn't hear from her and she didn't return my calls for the better part of a year. Her assistant told me Vicky would be in touch when she was ready, not before. I literally had no access to her. When she finally got in touch with me it was a week before a court date I knew nothing about, until that moment. The morning of court we met 30 minutes ahead of time where I learned she was unprepared - numbers didn't line up. Then she tried to blame me for her lack of preparation minutes before I had to walk into a court room. Honestly she was abusive and cruel at a very vulnerable moment for me. I would run, not walk away from her.

vicki is low on the scale of personal injury and divorce attorneys. its hard to find good legal talent for divorce unless you have a net worth over $5M.

vicki's method is to drag out what could be a six month ordeal to last years. things like losing documents and missing meetings. its that consistent monthly billing that keeps bottom feeders alive.

if at all possible, mediate.

Amazing attorney. She has integrity.' And she's extremely smart. Doesn't do her job for the money but because she truly cares about her clients and their children.

Vicki Parry has been practicing law for too long. She used to have the reputation of being one of the very best in town. She was well respected by her peers. However that opinion has largely changed in the last few years. She dropped the ball on my case several times. I found her to be unprepared on a number of occasions in court. She did not return calls, emails or my requests to meet in person. I finally had to fire her 3 weeks before my court date because she did not acknowledge my forensic accountants emails or phone calls (for over 6 months), and she thought she was prepared to go to mediation to settle my case. She had already decided with the other counsel what the settlement would be. She was out of line, rude and unprofessional too many times to count.

I was with Vicki for 2 years and could only get in front of her a handful of times, not once did she meet with me to talk about strategy or what her plan was, even though I requested that numerous times. I stayed with her and took the beating because everyone said she was the best and I couldn't find another attorney because my ex also ruled out all of the other good attorneys in town by meeting with them for a consult. I finally hired someone else. Santa Cruz is a very tough area to go to family court in. The judges are very skewed towards who they like for attorneys in this town.. It's a complete disgrace to the entire judicial system. I wish anyone going through this process here the best of luck.. You will need it!

Full of herself, but loose with the facts, I have witnessed Vicki lie and cheat right in front of judges. The ones who are paying attention no likey so much and slap her (read: you, the client) with big, fat fines and then ends up taking the other person's side.

Doesn't work out so well, but she does a great job of making you think that there are always more opportunities around the corner to "win" and doesn't wrap up cases when she should. I discovered that this was no less than an emotional manipulation game that sucked me out of nearly 100k.

A real con. Didn't get what I wanted and am in the hole. I wish I would have went the mediation or collaborative attorney route.
