Attorney Ostendorf is incredible. Truly, I do not have enough positive words to say about what he does. Atty ostendorf has dropped everything to fill in as my attorney in emergencies during extremely vital case hearings and court dates that could have been detrimental. He not only showed up with Invaluable knowledge, understanding of my entire history and situation, but also with empathy and kindness. He knew exactly what to say and what to ask prior to our court date that put my mind at ease during a very tumultuous time. He was both professional and relatable, never condescending. I appreciated that he made me feel like part of the decision making process in how to navigate our case and did not overrule my ideas, but welcomed them. It’s always hard to be in court where someone is speaking for you on your behalf, but he took the time to fully understand what it meant to be in my shoes and advocate as if this made the difference in his families’ life. I appreciated that level of compassion. Attorney ostendorf is brilliant in the art of law and also very human in his representation of his clients - you’d be hard pressed to find another attorney who can advocate more for you than James.

I have been working with James for a little over year now and my impression of him is that he is a hardworking attorney who is knowledgeable in family law. He is personable and compassionate. I do have to remind him of the details of my case when I reach out and although it is unusual to receive an immediate response, I am grateful when I do. That being said, James has reached out to me once or twice as well just to check-in which is nice. Sometimes I wouldn’t hear back for a week or two which is why I have found that our time is best spent if I prepare a little beforehand and come to the conversation with questions, concerns and/or useful details to share.

Court proceedings per case may be few and far between but overlap a few cases and an attorney surely burns through 8 hours a day. Working with James is like working on a team project- everyone has a role and still needs to do their part. He is fair and understanding but he is not going to do everything for you. He is the sharpest tool in my shed and I am proud to have him on my team.

I am so grateful to have enlisted Attorney Ostendorf to handle what began as a small claims case that he deftly transfered to a regular civil docket, where the Massachusetts Rules of Civil Procedure apply. He then demonstrated an impressive ability to navigate legal intricacies - through excellent preparation and polished advocacy. He basically saved the day.
