Regarding refund: The attorney originally only offered $500 courtesy refund but key components were missing (particularly not submitting advance parole WITHOUT consulting me). And I acknowledged some prep work was done, so we settled on half refund.

This is the first time in my 30+ years that I had to “fire” a service provider, and also the first time I was threatened by a lawyer after communicating my decision. When I called to express my concerns, Edgar interrupted me with an angry yelling tone and said: “No, I won’t (let you finish). Just go file a bar complaint. I’m telling you, you would have very little chance to win. Goodbye.” He then hung up. This behavior confirmed my decision to end their service.
Here I outline the specific reasons:
Empty promises: OlaBlu told me USCIS changed its payment method "overnight" starting 10/28 and said they would submit my case before that date so we could use the old method. I went to BoA to get cashier’s checks ($45service fees). After that, I received no updates. On 10/30, I followed up and was told they had not submitted the case due to internal planning issues. If deadlines cannot be met, clients should be informed rather than left to follow up.
They do not stay updated on USCIS policy changes: What they claimed as an “overnight” change was actually announced in 08/2025. They had two months to prepare and inform clients. My case was later returned due to payment issues, which I do not directly blame them for, but their poor preparation and planning caused delays (&$45wasted).
No written documentation: They often said tasks would be completed by a certain date, but they were not. When I followed up, they gave excuses such as the paralegal being out of office or simply denied their promises. The “last straw” - when I was told a form would be sent on 12/19, but I did not receive it. Edgar later denied saying that date and claimed it was 12/20, although both my husband and I clearly heard 12/19.
Incorrect filing and lack of accountability: In my first submission, they failed to include advance parole, even though I clearly requested both I765 and I131. I only discovered this after my case was returned. Instead of apologizing, Edgar stated that he does not recommend international travel given the current political climate. While I agree, this should have been communicated earlier, especially when I explicitly requested I131.
Poor ethics: When I requested a full refund, the attorney responded with a threat instead of professional communication, as described above. He did not respond for two days (weekend, so I get it). He followed up by email next Monday (finally in written form!).
Poor internal communication: When the assigned paralegal was out of office, no one else seemed to know anything about my case. Each time I called, I was told “I don’t know,” followed by DEAD SILENCE. This reflects a lack of coordination and poor customer service within the team.
Lack of attention to client details: They had my address and knew I live 4.5 hours away from Charlotte, yet repeatedly suggested I visit their office. This contradicts their claim that they serve clients worldwide.
Errors in prepared forms: After terminating their service and they returned forms to me, I reviewed the documents and found mistakes, e.g., they listed incorrect citizenship information (my birth country is different from my nationality), which could have caused confusion with USCIS. They also did not select the option to issue a new SSN on the I-485, which is a small issue, but it’s a meh from an attorney.
