I didn't end up getting services from this firm, but I wanted to share behavior from Hillary that I found really problematic. I have DACA and I have seen several videos from Hillary where she claims she can help you get a green card without getting married via a National Interest Waiver (NIW). I have Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science from an Ivy League school and have several years of experience in my field if AI, and I was told by her office that they do not recommend I try to get this type of visa because it's very difficult to get right now, and that they recommend I try to get PERM instead. I was a bit disappointed since in her videos she makes it seem like someone with my background should be able to get a NIW.

Now the part that I found really problematic - a couple days ago I was on tiktok and I saw again another one of her videos where she mentions the NIW. I basically commented my background and what how her office told me they didn't recommend the NIW. A few hours later, Hillary deleted my comment and BLOCKED ME. Sharing experiences like mine is important for awareness, and it's really disappointing to see Hillary prioritize her views and content. Based on my experience, I don't think she is transparent on how hard it can be to get these visas and downplays this on her videos to get more views.

Initially, I believed I would be working directly with Hillary Walsh, as she is the primary attorney advertised on the website and social media. I was so excited because it was all glowing information. However, after signing the contract and paying our fees, I learned that our assigned attorney was based out of state. Had I known from the beginning that our representation would be long distance for a detained case, I would have reconsidered moving forward.

One of the biggest challenges we experienced was communication. We did not speak directly with our assigned attorney until after the second hearing--approximately 30 days after my father was detained and after we had already signed the contract. During that time, all updates were relayed through a legal assistant and paralegal. While they were kind and responsive (this improved towards the end), we were repeatedly told we would be able to speak with the attorney, and that did not happen until much later.

When we finally did speak with the attorney, she appeared unfamiliar with key details of the case. For example, my father reported that she was unaware he was married, which was concerning given that this is a basic and important fact. This raised concerns for us, especially considering the amount of time billed for case preparation.

I personally spent many hours gathering and submitting extensive documentation to support my father's case. However, it did not seem that all of this information was thoroughly reviewed. For example, on the day of the final hearing, I had to bring up key positive factors myself--information that had already been submitted weeks prior.

We also experienced delays in communication after important moments. After the first hearing, we waited four days without any update and had to reach out multiple times before receiving any information. That period was extremely stressful for our family. At one point, it was difficult retreiving to get our attorney's email, as the the phone operator stated she did not have that information.

Additionally, there were multiple instances where basic information, such as my father's nationality, was recorded incorrectly through email and over the phone, despite the firm having all of his documentation, and spending hours getting to know our case.

To be fair, the staff we interacted with were friendly, and we ultimately did receive voluntary departure. They have glowing reviews, but not a lot from self claimed detained cases. In sum, our experience was disappointing given the level of investment our family put in and the seriousness of a detained immigration case.

Looking back, I wish we had asked more questions upfront--specifically about who would be handling the case and what level of communication we could expect. I also wish there had been more transparency early on regarding the strength of the case. It was not until over a month into representation that our attorney told us she felt "50/50." about our case.

These cases are high stakes and time sensitive, and clear communication is critical. My heart is with everyone who is going through this. Best of luck.
