What I experienced here has all the symptoms of a document mill. These people charge $400/hr for a consultation. For that price, I am expecting expertise. I did not get that. What I got was an unprofessional looking person who was not only unable to answer my direct question, but actually gave me information that was objectively incorrect.
I repeat: If I hadn't read the USCIS website thoroughly myself beforehand, if I had taken this person's advice, my family may have faced dire consequences.
The entire experience: The attorney was late (even though the office was empty). I was taken into a room with a big projector screen. The person sat me down and attempted to start reading off a scripted sheet of questions. I informed the person I was not at the beginning of the process, and since my money had only bought half an hour, time was of the essence. I came here to get my question answered.
When I asked it, the attorney was obviously unprepared and began stalling and frantically scrolling through the USCIS website on the projector. They stopped on a piece of information and quoted it as the answer to my question, but without going through the rest of the page. Because I knew what was on the rest of the page, I knew for a fact this person was just winging it, trying not to look stupid, and ended up giving me an incomplete picture of my situation and advice that was objectively false.
Now we get into the document milling: This person then began to gaslight me as if I can't fill out my name on a form. This is despite the fact that all of my forms were correctly filled out to this point. The reason for me coming in wasn't because of incomplete or incorrect forms. I was quoted $1000 for a single form; I shudder to think how much they'd charge for someone who needed a 485, 130, 130A, 131, etc filled out.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Consult here at your own risk. And watch these 5 star "reviews" with no details; may be in need of a validity check.
