I hired an attorney from Mostyn and Prettyman in 2023. I'll leave his name out of the review to avoid conflict but, the below is what took place.
I hired *** for representation and he allowed his personal relationships the opposing counsel to determine how hard he worked for me. His advice was drastic, scary, and made me feel like he was working for my ex husband on my dime. Evidence, my ex husband provided, disappeared and *** acted like he didn't know what I was speaking about and he did not bring enough copies of my evidence to court for submission during trial. During a break in the trial, I overheard the ad litem and opposing counsel tell *** to do whatever it took to get me to divorce my husband. I was in way over my head before I realized what was happening. *** is extremely unprofessional, a bully, and his poor representation almost cost me my children. Pay close attention to who you hire, who represents your kids, and if their roots are local.
I have added to my review since I received a response... see below
If the belief that their relationships help them win cases, how many have they lost because it wasn't their turn to win against their friend club? Relationships are an excellent tool for facilitating positive interactions. Attorney relationships should not dictate a child's best interest.
I received an additional update from Mostyn and Prettyman, so I'll address it.
I did not win my case. I lost, I lost a lot. My so-called attorney made fun of my evidence and strategy that my husband and I used to prove my ex-husband monitored my activities for a decade. The opposing counsel and attorney ad litem were aware of my ex-husband watching my every move and kept it from me.
Prior to our first hearing 8/9/23, 3 attorneys tried to have medication, I do not take, court ordered at my ex-husband's request. Paranoia is only a problem if someone isn't actually following you and watching everything you do. Attorneys are not doctors, FYI. During our hearing 8/9/23 my ex-husband admitted to watching me, portions of the testimony are attached below. Our hearing was continued for 8/30/23. I collected all the evidence I could to prove just how much my ex has interfered in my life and my attorney did not bring my evidence to court. My attorney from this firm did not represent me and allowed me to take a beating in court.
My former attorney and I stopped corresponding on 10/05/23 but I did not receive a bill until 8/7/24 after my former attorney sent documents to another attorney for discovery, and charged me for services when this firm no longer represents me. I have added a picture of my bill for reference. Why was my bill held for a year? Why am I being billed for services when this firm does not represent me? Why is my former attorney providing evidence for discovery when he does not represent me?
I am still swimming out of the mess because of what took place in my custody case when I hired this firm, and still paying the bill!
