If you come across Morrill Law, keep moving. I write this hoping it saves somebody the pain they inflicted on me
Joe Morrill was recommended to me by another east bay law firm.
Initial ($300) consultation, he seemed competent and reasonable. Hard to find lawyer reviews BTW.
Subsequently I was assured by the COO (his daughter) that they were "efficient", and regularly served clients with modest financials.
After 6 weeks and over $7k spent, he was fired.
His hourly rate is eye-watering. Not responsive at all. And his junior help/partner can't seem to do anything without his blessing. He (junior) introduced himself via email. Couldn't even dignify me with a phone call. In hindsight that was a red flag.
What he did for me wouldn't fill a thimble. Thank god I have since found responsive, competent counsel.
And to be perfectly clear, this was regarding a family trust matter in CA, although I now reside in NV.

I would recommend Morrill Law to anyone who's lost a loved one and dealing with trusts, estates, and negligent trustees. I have been working with Kelly for about 9 months. Not only is she extraordinarily intelligent, she is prompt with her responses, she pays attention to detail, taking the time to go above and beyond knowing me not only as a client but also as a grieving daughter that just needed someone to listen and have sympathy and compassion for my situation. I cannot thank her and Joe enough for fighting for our inheritances, pointing us in the right direction when emotions flare up, and for working with me on the retainer and making me feel validated.

racked up 60,000 in fees and never filed one paper in court to deal with elder financial abuse. I will give credit for helpful counsel for navigating the beginning of taking on responsibility of executor of a trust.
