				Recently I had occasion to work with Jon Morphew on an Eminent Domain case involving property I had just purchased.  Overall, I am pleased with the result and would recommend that anybody in a similar situation consider reaching out to Morphew Law Office.



There were many reasons why I feel fortunate to have worked with Jon on this, but here are three that I believe might be the most helpful to somebody considering reaching out:



1. Jon showed not just attention to- but care for my concerns.  When he stopped by initially, he helped me understand how utilities tend to approach negotiating with property owners; he also took some time to walk through the work I understood the utility planned on doing, how that related to my property, and how the impact of that work might affect what I valued about my property.



2. Jon helped me understand his experience, perspective, and methodology in a manner that was helpful for me.  He helped me understand what was happening, what was allowed by law, what our options were to respond to the utility proposing the taking, and what I could understand the general process to look like in the long term.  He was also great about answering questions I had.



3. Throughout the process, Jon kept me in the driver's seat.  After I made it clear that I was sort of mapping out my options, Jon suggested several times that I continue to work through figures and what was important to me.  At a couple different points we had decisions to make, and while at the same time Jon helped me understand the context and potential consequences of those decisions, he also helped me understand that, ultimately, the decisions themselves were up to me.
