Review of Minnesota Lawyer Referral Program

I recently had a very disappointing experience with the Minnesota Lawyer Referral program. This service is supposed to help consumers get legal aid, but it falls far short of that promise. If you have no income, legal aid will refer you to this program, which is a complete joke.

I spoke with a representative named Tamera for 30 minutes. She took my credit card number and assured me she would email me a lawyer who could help with my issue. Instead, she emailed Shawn, the very person I was trying to get legal help against. To make matters worse, Shawn called me at 8 AM, reprimanding me for contacting the Minnesota Lawyer Referral program.

He stated he received an email the day before, instructing me to call about a gas leak and a water line being cut. Shawn, the person I was trying to get legal help against, told me an email was sent to him and I would never reach a real lawyer. It seems they pay the Minnesota Lawyer Referral program to prevent people from getting actual legal assistance.

This program does not provide the legal help you need. Save your time and money, and look elsewhere for legal aid.
