I recently moved to the area and was looking for an attorney to handle my estate matters. While at first glance the reviews of this firm look great, things are not quite what they seem. I’ve heard stories and experiences of this attorney and his firm attempting to coerce individuals into using their services. After unsuccessfully attempting to solicit my friend’s business after the death of his father, Ed actually took a case against him. Why would you take a case against someone after actively trying to recruit them as a client? I don’t expect attorneys to be the nicest or friendliest, but I do expect attorneys to behave ethically and with standards. During mediation when my friend expressed frustration with the process, Ed began to use verbal intimidation and subsequent profanity. The fact he was even in the room with clients attempting to harass them despite them not being his and without the mediator present tells me all I need to know. Reputation is everything and how you speak to and treat people in some of their most vulnerable moments like my friend’s tells me all I need to know. Perhaps Ed and his firm should take a course on ethics and decorum since clearly they seem to be lacking.
