In July 2022, I was accused of something that I didn't do. These were very serious allegations with very serious consequences. Not only were my civil liberties at stake, but the effects a guilty verdict would have had on our family were terrifying and immeasurable. Bill and his colleagues, William Dooling and Anne Klimek, fought tirelessly for months to see that the truth finally prevailed. When the verdict was read on February 16, 2024 in the United States District Court, I was unanimously acquitted. My husband committed a crime that if convicted he could been sentenced at the maximum to up to 20 years in prison, and a fine of $10,000. With Mr. Mauzy’s guidance and advice, he received the best outcome possible with a sentence of six months home arrest and a fine of $100. Mr. Mauzy’s advice included making restitution as soon as possible to the innocent party, and to apologize and be humble. A few months after the settlement, my husband again again needed Mr. Mauzy’s help. Without hesitation he wrote a letter supporting my husband and charged no extra fee.
