Worst attorney I have ever met in my life would never recommend him to anyone

They are very helpful, they answered my questions even the dumb ones. I call, they call back that day or the next. They also email me back when I send them documents for my file they send a email back letting me know they got it. I had no issues with them, they are great. At first when you get into it there isn't anything they can do until the money is paid so they can start the process. After you get the balance paid they move pretty fast they let you know whats going to happen, you'll meet up with Sam, he'll go over everything with you, make sure you didn't forget anything. Walk you through the process on what to exspect and what will happen. Befire you pay the money they will let you know what the process is what you need to get ready so while you are paying on it you can get everything together. There is alot to get, past bills IRS, IDR, credit cards, leins everything. Your pay stubs your bank statements amd so on. After you pay then you can proceed getting it all locked in. I had my stuff done not even a week after meeting with Sam went alot faster then I thought. I am very happy they were there, I called around to others before I called them, they answered the phone and they weren't snooty. They know what they are doing. ​

I have experienced GREAT frustration in dealing with Marks Law Firm. I secured their services via a phone intake with Sam in May 2025. I found it odd that no contract was issued or an outline of services to be completed, but I didn’t have much of a leg to stand on as I had attempted to secure representation from countless other law offices in the area and none were able to help due to it relating to a specific issue. Sam was curt, but straight forward during the intake and also agreed to a $2500 retainer, to be paid on a month to month basis. I truly appreciated the gesture and moved forward with the faith that this was someone who was willing to help and work with my family, without putting us out, financially.

Over the next 11 months, I went through COUNTLESS phone calls of attempting to speak with Sam, with ZERO follow up. I would receive communication from the other parties lawyers and attempt to communicate with Sam on what the next step was…. Nothing. The receptionist had the audacity to tell (when I had called yet again) “you cannot call here and just expect to speak to Sam, as he is very busy. You would do better with scheduling an appointment to talk with him.” To which I responded that I had TWO scheduled appointment times to speak with him and when each time rolled around, he was “engaged in very important work” and unable to come to the phone. Was told several times that I would receive a follow up call by EOD, with no response.

Each time a call was placed, I was treated with contempt and disrespect. I fully understand that my measly $2500 retainer was a drop in the bucket, but $2500 is a small fortune to a single income family.

We have decided to move forward with attempts to deal directly with the other sides lawyers, purely out of frustration and lack of response from Marks Law Firm. I blame myself for a large chunk of this outcome, as I know now that I should have pressed for a formal contract and something in writing to back up our verbal phone agreement.

Do yourself a favor and do A LOT of research before entrusting your time and money into a company that can later claim “no paper trail” when it comes to their lack of work and effort.

I dealt with Sam and he is not good at answering questions, he does not return phone calls! Sam will tell you to email him things so he can “help” and will not respond back to emails or reach back out. After I filed my bankruptcy I didn’t know what was going on. I tried reaching out multiple times and each time I called I still never got the answers to my questions. I wish I would have went somewhere else! I was in a stressful part of my life and dealing with this made it so much worse!
