I am not one to write reviews, but this company is unprofessional, unresponsive, and unfocused. Home buyers need to be warned before they decide to work with this team. Below is our experience working with them, so you can judge for yourself if this is a team that you feel comfortable trusting. During inspections, we noticed that our house smelled heavily of cigarette smoke and contained nicotine damage, something that was masked during our showing. We reached out to our attorney ELEVEN TIMES hoping that she would negotiate a closing credit from the seller on our behalf. We tried calling, leaving voicemails, emailing, etc. multiple times, over the course of two weeks. We were met with silence, as if we didn't exist, as if we weren't their clients. They weren't there for us, even though we were contractually obligated to work with them during this time and vise versa. Second, they did not report any liens that they found against the home owner until the day before our closing, despite knowing about them for weeks. This delayed our closing, and everyone was aware, but us. The communication and support from this company is virtually non-existent. Third, they drop the ball again on the nicotine damage issue during closing. We again brought up during close that there is significant damage to the house, and our attorney agrees that negotiating a credit with the seller is a good idea. Great. We have finally been heard and acknowledged after weeks of what felt like yelling into the void, asking for help. So we sign the closing documents with the paralegal, as instructed, and we were told not to enter the house until we hear back from them with the results of the negotiation about the credits. It was about 10am that day, and they told us that we'd hear back fast, by that afternoon at the latest. By 7pm that evening we had tried contacting them half a dozen times, because we hadn't heard anything back. Again, phone calls, text messages, voicemails, emails, etc. Nothing!! Over an entire day later, THE NEXT EVENING, our attorney emails us saying that they were NEVER informed by the paralegal that we wanted to proceed with the negotiation as planned and that she has already closed the deal without it. For clarity, not only did we directly inform our attorney the day of closing, the paralegal informed her as well. There is NO EXCUSE for dropping the ball on this. At this point we had brought up the nicotine damage and smoke smell to this company SEVENTEEN TIMES over the course of two weeks. And they did nothing to advocate on our behalf. Does this sound like a company you want to work with? After escalating to the firm's owner, they sent us a $300 check in the mail. For perspective, we spent over $3K fixing the nicotine and smoke damage. Leading up to our closing, I had mapped out $2K in known expenses for the remediation, that were itemized and detailed in full, and sent to the attorney. But they never read it, they never acknowledged it, and they never cared about helping us. Ultimately, they didn't even try. BUT IT DOES NOT STOP HERE. Fourth, a month later, we find out that they MISSPELLED MY NAME ON THE DEED!! So we contact them to fix it. I then receive an Affidavit, meant to correct my misspelled name on the deed. But I can't use it, because THEY NOW MISSPELLED MY HUSBANDS NAME ON THE AFFIDAVIT!!! You really can't make this stuff up. The lack of professionalism is unlike anything that I have ever experienced before. In the long run of life, home buying is a stressful, but beautiful experience. So I ask you to please consider working with someone who will advocate for you, answer your calls, and most importantly lift stress off of your plate, not add to it. This business made our closing experience stressful, and stole our joy. But yours doesn't have to. There are many real estate attorneys out there operating in the towns that this company works in. Please, for your own health and sanity, work with someone... no, ANYONE, else.
