Nothing about a lawsuit is good, but the staff here - including, and especially, Kitty Nix! - really made this intake process a lot more pleasant. Being smart and kind is wonderful in any industry, but when you're dealing with the complexity of legal problems and the personal difficulties that come with it, it's a gift to have good people on your side. My husband and I had a consultation with Scott McDonald. The fact that we paid $450, that we could barely afford, for me to be laughed at is so upsetting. He was so condescending. After I told him I was offended, he apologized and changed his tone. When I left the zoom to cry off camera, he was a bit helpful to my husband, at least. Maybe one of the other senior associates would’ve had more empathy.

I am so glad I had the consultation with Scott McDonald at LS Carlson. I had a consultation with another firm that went no where. I had recieved no advice or thoughtful plan. Though the attorney was nice, he had not done any preparation even though I included documents and a timeline. Scott was the opposite. He showed up prepared, had a great grasp for the situation and cared about what was in my best financial / emotional interest (I think we can all agree that a dispute with your HOA will take a lot out of you).
